2014 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe Release Date

The little face- and tail-lift for the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro doesn't come as a big shock. An modified look was due, and all new Camaros get a broader lower oral cavity, a compacted higher grill, and specifically, one-piece taillamps (the past twin-trapezoid design since pawned off to the Malibu and, surprisingly, the new Corvette). The larger information, however, is the come back of the Z/28 design.

Last seen in 2001, the Z/28 profits with a backslash in its name and the monitor in its heart. Like the unique 1967 Camaro Z/28, a manufacturing car designed to competition in the Trans-Am rushing sequence, the Z/28 is road lawful and track-ready. Chevy resolved the Camaro's main fitness weak point (mass) by cutting its battling bodyweight to about 3,800 bodyweight. That's about 300 bodyweight less than the present Camaro master, the ZL1. It was obtained through less heavy 19-inch wheels, carbon-ceramic braking system, slimmer back cup, an uncarpeted footwear, little sound-deadening content, guide chair modification, reduction of the back chair pass-through, and placing air-conditioning and a stereo system on the choices list.

But if bodyweight was a weak point, power and hold won't be. When you develop a 7.0-liter V8, it's a pity to source it completely for the Corvettes. The Z/28 will use the same motor found in the present Corvettes Z06, producing 500 horse power and 470 pound-feet of twisting, put to the back wheels through a six-speed stick shift. A dry-sump oil system and transmitting and differential chillers should help keep the Z/28 lapping the area. Prominent streamlined body-work (fender flames, front side and rear spoilers), four-way flexible dampers and difficult Pirelli Trofeo wheels make sure the Z/28 remains closed to the floor. Chevy says the Z/28 can take up to 1.06g on the skid pad, better than a inventory Mercedes 911.

The Z/28 internal will also be appropriately rare, its moderate features such as special Recaro chairs, a flat-bottom leader and smooth cut complete.

The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 goes for selling next springtime. Chevy calling it a limited-edition design, but didn't specify how many models it would make, nor indicate any costs. Anticipate it to area well northern of the present ZL1's $55,000 platform price. Return for more information on the new Camaro Z/28, such as specifications, generating opinions and purchasing guidance as it becomes available.
