2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport Review

Preliminary
A evergreen teenager, the CTS has always been too big for the 3 Sequence audience, yet too lightweight to attention an E-Class customer. But now with small sized ATS squaring shoulder area with other lightweight high-class cars, the 2014 Cadillac CTS is free to shift into the upmarket midsize high-class band.

2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport
2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport
The new CTS rests on top of a 1.2-inch more time wheelbase, is 5 inches wide more time and 1 inches wide reduced, and in information looks large enough to take a position together with the midsize Spanish people. Design is mostly an progress of the present design, with a broader grill, front lights streaming into the bonnet line and bigger back shoulder area.

The 3.6-liter V6 profits, up a few more horse power to 325 hp and 275 pound-feet of twisting. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder distributed to the ATS becomes the new system motor, good for 272 hp and 295 lb-ft. Cadillac desires the 2.0-liter to come back 19 mpg town and 30 mpg road.

The 2014 Cadillac CTS will also present a top cut level known as Vsport, providing a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 producing 420 hp and 430 lb-ft of twisting -- more than the turbocompresseur V8 in BMW's top 550i. The Vsport design will only be available with rear-wheel generate, while both the four-cylinder and normally aspirated V6 designs will also provide optionally available all-wheel generate.

2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport
2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport
GM's first eight-speed transmitting comes conventional on rear-drive V6 designs, while 2.0-liter and all-wheel-drive V6s get a six-speed automated with exercise shifters. The CTS will also provide another Caddy first: computerized vehicle parking support.

Based on the new ATS system, the 2014 CTS garden sheds significant bodyweight as opposed to present design. According to Cadillac, the four-cylinder CTS is about 200 bodyweight less than the BMW 528i. No question, BMW will cut bodyweight from the 5 Sequence for its next upgrade, but the more essential concern is that the CTS is less than its present self: The system control bodyweight of the new design is more than 200 bodyweight less heavy than the least heavy present CTS.

Inside, the CTS requires its cause from the XTS with wealthy set and cut components, a 12.3-inch configurable sprint show, and a second show to function the CUE infotainment system. We wish Cadillac up-dates CUE's touchscreen display manages and haptic touch-sensitive "buttons" for more user-friendly, responsive reaction. Our encounter with CUE thus far has been frustrating.

The 2014 Cadillac CTS comes at traders this drop beginning at around $46,000. Return for a complete evaluation of the new CTS, such as specifications, generating opinions and purchasing guidance as it becomes available.

2014 Buick LaCrosse Sedan Review

For motorists who live in locations with titles like Sketchy Pines, the Buick of these days isn't the Buick they remember. Over the last several years, the nameplate's gone "premium," and that's intended walking away from its culture for large, gently updated sedan in support of more fantastic, shaped solutions.

2014 Buick LaCrosse Sedan
2014 Buick LaCrosse Sedan
The Buick LaCrosse is one of the clearer pointers of how much modify that's introduced. It has enough of the classic Buick design hints to keep in mind the connection--but the way it pushes is almost entirely turned off from the last, from its managed drive to its available mild-hybrid drivetrain.

The elegant LaCrosse has lots in common with the new Chevrolet Impala--but the LaCrosse was here first, and the effect of its soft-shouldered, snappily creased body sections hasn't washed out. It's been improved a bit for 2014 with new LED eye liner and taillamps, but the nicely dense form has always had most of the facts down pat. If we proved helpful at GM, we'd individually pry every bogus porthole off its bonnet and reduce them permanently, but there's not much else to find mistake with on the big Buick. The cabin's update this season remolds the middle collection into a less complicated form, and an Super High-class program slathers it in tamo timber and parcels the cottage in semi-aniline set.
There's almost no modify to the LaCrosse's two remarkably updated thoughts of performance. There's a platform design with GM's eAssist mild-hybrid technology; it profits decent, enhanced performance while making an EPA road number of 36 mpg. The 304-hp V-6 edition is our idea of a more conventional luxury-car experience, and probably yours too. The LaCrosse is no performance car, but it does manage better than its forerunners. In Traveling guise, with the optionally available attractive flexible revocation (and involved V-rated performance wheels and variable-effort power steering), the LaCrosse benefits a more sensitive feel that doesn't come at the price of quality of drive.

2014 Buick LaCrosse Sedan
2014 Buick LaCrosse Sedan
With area for five, as well as a back seat that's good enough for three, the LaCrosse has a level of sitting convenience that's a phase above in comparison to mid-size cars. Internal sessions and requirements of improvement in the LaCrosse's cottage are truly luxury-car quality. Higher designs also get improved pierced set and vented air conditioning functions, along with more improvements and storage settings; and across the collection, Buick's 'Quiet Tuning' viewpoint shows in a limited, near-silent interior.

The LaCrosse generates some of the best protection scores in the whole GM family, with eight conventional safety purses and top protection scores from both U.S. organizations. Blind-spot caution system, flexible cornering headlamps, and back side thorax purses are all available, as is a head-up show (HUD). This season, the LaCrosse also screws on new protection technological innovation that buzzes, blings, and vibrates to notify of upcoming danger--some of it useful, like ahead accident signals, and some with less certain benefit.

2014 Buick LaCrosse Sedan
2014 Buick LaCrosse Sedan
It's a top quality sedan, not an extravagance one--at least, that's how the 2014 LaCrosse is charged. And yet, the most costly designs can be reduce out like Cadillacs, with Bose sound and an improved device board. The IntelliLink touch-screen interface up-dates to a new edition that's basically Cadillac's CUE devoid of the haptic feedback--it has 60 most favorite spots and area for a million connections, to go with relationship with mobile phones for hands-free or loading sound functions, as well as accessibility applications for The planet pandora or Stitcher sound. It's innovative technological innovation that would have been many years before archetypical Buick client of the past--but drops right in phase with the motorists taking a second look at Buick these days.

2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe Release Date and Review

Preliminary
This wasn't hard to see arriving. The ATS sedan has become Cadillac's huge hit and the second-best supplier in the collection, following only the SRX cross-over. The small sport sedan is constantly on the outpace the CTS on the revenue ground (which could modify when Cadillac releases a bigger, remodeled CTS), so a vehicle edition is a no-brainer. The sedan already draws the young customers that Caddy covets, so the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe should provide as another access way for customers who perspective cars as too rectangle and realistic.

2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe
2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe
Cadillac will need to prevent the design therapy given to the CTS Coupe, however. The CTS two-door might entice lovers with its dense haunches, wide C-pillars and center-mounted fatigue, but most people are looking for the sedan. A more affordable technique is to simply prolong the entrance opportunities and blend the ceiling range, not compared with on the new 2014 BMW 4 Sequence, the ATS Coupe's primary designed competing.

Powertrain options should reflection the sedan, along with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder good for 202 horse power, a 272-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four and a 3.6-liter V6 that provides 321 hp and 274 pound-feet of twisting. Anticipate a six-speed sedan across the panel, with an optionally available six-speed guide for the 2.0-liter turbocompresseur and gradually, all-wheel generate.

We also expect the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe to bring the newest -- and challenge we wish, enhanced -- edition of the CUE infotainment program. The huge swipe-and-tap touchscreen show display is snazzy, as are the touch-sensitive environment and sound management control buttons, but none of that issues when the program provides slowly reaction and needs needless focus while generating. CUE has been one of our least preferred components of the present ATS; perhaps the Coupe will provide a rejuvenated edition that performs.

The Cadillac ATS Coupe should hit show rooms by the springtime of 2014. Return for a complete evaluation of the ATS Coupe, such as generating opinions, specifications and purchasing guidance as it becomes available.

2014 Cadillac ATS Sedan Review

Preliminary
Now in its second year, the 2014 Cadillac ATS is a capable access in the well-stocked lightweight entry-level sport high-class sedan category. Although customers have a lot of choices in this cost variety, the Cadillac's contemporary internal planning and touchscreen show management user interface stand out from the competitors. The ATS is also one of the best managing entry-luxury cars out there, and while it's not extremely quick, both the mid-range 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder motor and available V6 offer a fulfilling bargain of energy and performance. Overall, the ATS supports well among entry-luxury cars, and it's easily the most suitable small Cadillac of the modern era.

2014 Cadillac ATS Sedan
2014 Cadillac ATS Sedan
That said, the Cadillac ATS has a few weak spots that keep it from falling its competitors. Performance is poor with the platform 2.5-liter motor, and while the 2.0-liter turbocompresseur is significantly more effective, its soundtrack has all the appeal of a merge harvester. Within, the CUE infotainment program is attractive on an visual stage, but it's often slowly to reply to instructions, which can create it annoying to use while generating. The ATS also has one of the tiniest backseats and footwear of any entry-level high-class sedan.

Of course, the biggest barrier for the 2014 Cadillac ATS is simply the extreme competitors in this cost variety. The 2014 BMW 3 Series has taken over this category for years and continues to do so, thanks to its collection of overachieving engine, huge cottage and all-around outstanding generating characteristics. Other top choices consist of the 2014 Cadillac A4, Infiniti Q50 and 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The recently introduced Mercedes-Benz CLA is another possible applicant, since it costs less and provides similar high-class sessions.

The BMW is without a doubt our favorite car to generate in this group, while the Cadillac has some of the finest cottage furniture. The 2014 Cadillac ATS is a step behind these two, but it's still a strong competitor and worth a test-drive before you create up your mind.

2014 Cadillac ATS Sedan

2014 Cadillac ATS Sedan

Body Styles,and Options
The 2014 Cadillac ATS is a five-passenger, luxury-oriented sport sedan that is offered in four trim levels: platform, Luxury, Performance and Top quality.

Standard functions on the platform trim consist of 17-inch metal wheels, warmed decorative mirrors, automated front lights, an effective aerodynamic grill, vacation management, dual-zone automated heating and cooling, six-way energy front part seat with energy lower back, leatherette premium vinyl fabric furniture, a tilt-and-telescoping leader, OnStar, Wireless phone connection and a seven-speaker Bose speakers with satellite stereo, an iPod/USB user interface and an reliable sound port.

Optional on the platform ATS is the Cadillac User Encounter (CUE) infotainment program and an improved surround-sound program, which contributes HD Radio, an 8-inch touchscreen show sound show, 10-speaker Bose speakers (with a CD player) and a rearview photographic camera.

The Performance trim (not available with the 2.5-liter engine) contains earlier mentioned equipment along with double fatigue sites, a Driver Attention program (automatic high-beam management, automated wipers, rear-seat part protection bags, and ahead accident, back cross-traffic and road leaving caution systems), xenon front lights, an improved 10-speaker Bose surround-sound speakers, front part sport seat (with driver-side enhance adjustment), aluminum-trimmed pedals and, as on the platform ATS, a fixed back seat with a pass-through.

Stepping up to the Top quality trim (not available with the 2.5-liter engine) contributes 18-inch wheels, a routing program, a shade head-up show and the 60/40 split-folding back seat. Rear-wheel-drive ATS Top quality designs also come with run-flat summer wheels, a sport-tuned revocation, flexible revocation dampers and a limited-slip back differential.

Many of the functions that are conventional on the upper trim levels are optionally available on the lower cuts. A few other option offers are also available. The Driver Assistance program incorporates the functions from the Attention program and contributes flexible vacation management, blind-spot tracking, a accident minimization program with braking mechanism assist (which triggers in both front and rear part accident situations) and along with head-up show. The Cold Weather program incorporates warmed front part seat and a warmed leader. Available only on rear-drive V6 Top quality designs, the Track Performance program contributes an motor oil chilly and improved braking mechanism shields. Other choices consist of different wheels, a sunroof and a footwear freight manager.

2014 Cadillac ATS Sedan
2014 Cadillac ATS Sedan
Performance
Three engine are available for the 2014 Cadillac ATS. The 2.5 designs come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder motor that produces 202 horse power and 190 pound-feet of twisting. The 2.0 Turbo designs come with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder ranked at 272 hp and 260 lb-ft of twisting. The 3.6 designs come with a 3.6-liter V6 that churns out 321 hp and 274 lb-ft of twisting.

All ATS engine come printed to a six-speed automated gear box except the 2.0-liter turbocompresseur, which can also be had with a six-speed guide. Rear-wheel generate is conventional across the board. All-wheel generate is optionally available for the 2.0- and 3.6-liter engine and requires the automated gear box.

Fuel economy scores for the platform ATS 2.5 are 22 mpg city/33 mpg road and 26 mpg combined. Equipped with the automated, 2.0 Turbo designs are approximated to return 21/31/24 in rear-drive settings and 20/29/23 with AWD (with the guide gear box and rear-drive, the ATS 2.0 Turbo is ranked at 19/30/23). The V6 is approximated to achieve 18/28/22 with rear-wheel generate and 18/26/21with AWD.

Safety
Standard precautionary functions for the 2014 Cadillac ATS consist of antilock disk braking system, grip management, balance management, effective front part go constraints, front-seat part and joint protection bags and full-length part layer protection bags. Also conventional is OnStar, such as automated crash notice, on-demand curbside support, distant door opening, thieved coupe support and turn-by-turn routing.

Optional protection items are included in these Driver Attention (forward accident aware, back cross-traffic aware, road leaving caution, automated wipers and back seat part airbags) and Driver Assistance offers (adaptive vacation management, blind-spot tracking, and accident minimization with braking mechanism assist). Note that the accident minimization program that's part of the Driver Assistance program will instantly apply the braking system in both low-speed ahead and rearward potential accident circumstances -- an uncommon feature in this cost variety. A rearview photographic camera is optionally available on the platform model and conventional on the Luxury, Performance and Top quality.

Interior Style and Special Features
Inside, the 2014 Cadillac ATS features a variety of high-quality materials, including classy wood and metal accessories. The cottage feels well put together, but we've mentioned a few more fit and finish issues in the ATS than in in the same way priced competitors.

The available CUE infotainment user interface functions large symbols and operates like an iPhone or iPad, which is to say you operate it by hitting, moving, using or growing your fingertips -- making it familiar for many users. Furthermore, "haptic" reviews lets you know when you've pushed a virtual button by blinking when you touch it.

This all results in a certain wow factor, but in practice, CUE can be slowly to reply (and sometimes, fail to reply at all), and some functions, such as the slide bar for volume modification, come to be more trouble than conventional manages. In this category, we prefer the BMW iDrive and Mercedes-Benz COMAND connections (both of which use a multidirectional dial-type controller). On the benefit, the ATS has a effective speech identification user interface, so if you get tired of playing with the touchscreen show, starting instructions by speech is a pretty pain-free process.

Up front part, most motorists will discover it easy to get into a comfortable generating position, and in our experience, the top part seat records support on longer pushes. Unusually, the optionally available sport seat don't offer much more horizontal support than the conventional seat, even with the addition of power-adjustable increases.

Compared to most other entry-level high-class cars, the ATS's back burner is smaller than the standard. It's not necessarily a deal buster based on what your main concerns are, but know that higher adults will discover headroom, shoulder room and hiproom scarce. The back area is in the same way limiting. Despite its wide opening, it offers just 10.2 cubic legs of capacity. Only the Luxury and Top quality cuts have a 60/40 split-folding back seat.

2014 Cadillac ATS Sedan
2014 Cadillac ATS Sedan
Driving Impressions
The 2014 Cadillac ATS is an impressive all-around entertainer, thanks to its positioned ride, sure-footed managing and outstanding response from the guiding and braking system. More challenging motorists might criticize the steering's so-so stages of reviews, but overall, the lightweight Cadillac  is a fine daily car owner that can also offer a lot of enjoyment on a Weekend morning generate.

The platform 2.5-liter motor is sleek, but it provides tepid speeding in contrast to other entry-level powertrains in this category. Luckily, both the 2.0-liter turbocompresseur four-cylinder and 3.6-liter V6 offer forced more in keeping with this Cadillac's fitness character. Of these two, the V6 would be our choice, mostly because the 2.0-liter turbocompresseur gets loud under hard speeding and isn't as enhanced as the four-cylinder engine in competing cars. Although lovers may lament the lack of a stick shift for the V6, the six-speed automated will get the job done for most customers. Turned to Sport mode, it knows when to hold a gear and provides rev-matched downshifts.

2014 Buick Verano Sedan Release Date and Review

Preliminary
Think of the Verano as a Buick, compacted. As the automaker's tiniest sedan, the Verano is easy to generate and move, yet it provides the great stages of convenience long associated with bigger Buicks such as the Elegant and LaCrosse. The Verano stocks its structure with the Chevy Cruze, but differentiates itself with greater stages of fit and complete, innovative precautionary functions, and a cloud-like generate. Though not as fitness as an Acura ILX or as fuel-efficient as a Lincoln CT 200h multiple, the Verano and its topline Turbocompresseur edition take a position out in the entry-level high-class section with their enhancement and value undertaking. With a beginning cost under $25,000, the 2014 Verano provides one of the most relaxed trips for the cash.

2014 Buick Verano Sedan
2014 Buick Verano Sedan
Interior
Like its bigger LaCrosse brother, the 5-passenger Verano's internal is attractive thanks to high-quality components and relaxed seat. The two reduced cuts use top quality fabric as the protecting of choice, while the top two have luxurious set. The motorist's seat is amazingly supported for a car of this size. The back seat are tight, though, and legroom is at a top quality. We like the Verano's conventional 7-inch touch-screen interface, but its around control buttons and manages could use enhancement. There are many of them – such as the unusually placed engine-start key on greater cuts – and they are not very user-friendly.

2014 Buick Verano Sedan
2014 Buick Verano Sedan
Exterior
Though its structure is distributed to the Chevy Cruze, the Verano's external overall look varies considerably. The lightweight sedan starts with a "waterfall" grill, has factors described by a carefully increasing beltline that give it a a little bit fitness position, and concludes perfectly with a tucked-in footwear. Being a Buick, the Verano keeps on the custom of the brand's visual "portholes," placed on top of the bonnet straight within the A-pillars. The conventional tires are amazing 18-inch aluminum-alloys. Turbocharged Veranos are the sleepers of the range, with just a simple "T" logo on the back area and double fatigue sites to indicate their additional muscular.

2014 Buick Verano Sedan
2014 Buick Verano Sedan
Standard Equipment
The 2014 Buick Verano provides a variety of functions – some not even provided by its opponents – at a cheaper. Platform designs come with 18-inch aluminum-alloy tires, a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/USB audio program with touchscreen technology, dual-zone automated heating and cooling, and a rearview photographic camera. Spend approximately $1,200 additional for the Comfort cut, and you get much more for your cash, such as blind-spot tracking with back cross-traffic aware, forward-collision aware and lane-departure caution, warmed front side seat, and a energy motorist's seat. Top-line editions bring an stimulating turbocharged 4-cylinder, set, a warmed leader, and a 9-speaker Bose audio program. All Veranos consist of 10 protection bags, stability/traction management, and automated accident reaction as part of a 6-month analyze of the OnStar emails program.

Optional Equipment
Many suitable facilities for the 2014 Verano are included among its four cut stages. Those that are available a la mappemonde consist of routing, a energy sunroof, and Bose top quality audio. The sedan's external overall look can be improved with top quality multi-spoke tires, precious stone tri-coat colour and a spoiler. Turbocompresseur designs can be prepared with a 6-speed stick shift as a no-cost choice in place of the 6-speed automated.

2014 Buick Verano Sedan
2014 Buick Verano Sedan
Driving Impressions
If there's one term to explain the Verano, it's "comfortable." That shouldn't come as a shock since it's a Buick, but it is a important distinguisher among lightweight cars. Where...

other entry-level high-class cars endeavor to be fantastic, this one places on few such airs. Its non-independent torsion-beam back revocation may seem old, but the installation works with aplomb to relax up lumps. The Verano slides over streets like a little reasoning. Sound solitude is similarly amazing. With the conventional 180-horsepower 4-cylinder motor and 6-speed automated gearbox, the Verano's performance is appropriate but not remarkable. Opt for the amazing turbocharged motor and you obtain 70 horse energy while compromising only one or two mpg. The Verano Turbocompresseur is a zippy little car that can go 0-60 mph in just over six a few moments. The turbo model's revocation is a little bit tougher, but it's still no area carver. Braking mechanism reaction and your pedal feel on our analyze car was soft and mediocre.

2014 Buick Encore SUV Review

Preliminary
Cross-over SUVs come in all sizes and capability stages, but so far only a few car manufacturers make truly little utility vehicles aimed at consumers who generate in populated places. The Buick Encore is one of these crossovers. At only 168 inches wide lengthy, it's 10 inches wide shorter than the lightweight Honda CR-V. The Buick's small dimensions pay benefits when it's time to press into small vehicle parking areas, but don't assume that this less-is-more viewpoint expands to the Encore's equipment list. Even platform editions of this little crossover come with Buick's IntelliLink touchscreen display screen interface and a rearview photographic camera, so the cottage atmosphere is extremely elegant considering its sub-$30,000 platform cost.

2014 Buick Encore SUV
2014 Buick Encore SUV
In addition, the Encore's internal provides flexibility, as you can flip both the top part traveler seat (a conventional feature) and the returning seat smooth. So done, there's area to collection wood or anything up to 8 legs lengthy inside the Encore and still near its liftgate. Meanwhile, there's just enough legroom to provide 6-footers in the back burner, but as you might anticipate, hiproom and neck area aren't particularly nice.

The primary disadvantage to the 2014 Buick Encore, though, is its gradual speeding. It takes near to 10 seconds to get to 60 mph. Not only is this more slowly than most similarly sized opponents in this cost range, such as the Fiat 500L, Small Cooper S Countryman and Car Juke, it's something you'll notice as soon as you hit the gas pedal to combine onto the road. Until Buick recognizes fit to update the Encore's motor, this could be a restricting factor for many buyers. On the benefit, the Encore returns above average gas mileage for its class, and it's extremely silent once you're up to rate.

If you're looking for a attractive, fuel-efficient crossover to generate in the town, the 2014 Buick Encore is worth considering. If your plans consist of frequent car journeys, however, we'd encourage you to test-drive at least a couple of its opponents, as well as larger crossovers like the CR-V, Honda Escape and Chevy RAV4, which offer significantly more area and, in most cases, better performance for similar money.

2014 Buick Encore SUV
2014 Buick Encore SUV
Body Styles, Options
The platform Encore comes conventional with 18-inch painted metal tires, warmed part mirrors, air-conditioning, cruise management, a tilt-and-telescoping leader, full energy accessories, a six-way energy car owner seat (manual recline), Wireless phone and audio connection, a rearview photographic camera, split-folding returning seat, a fold-flat front part traveler seat, OnStar telematics and a six-speaker audio program with a CD player, satellite radio, a USB/iPod interface and an reliable audio jack. Also involved is Buick's IntelliLink management interface, which functions a 7-inch touchscreen display screen and incorporated smart phone apps.

Stepping up to the Comfort contributes foglights, a sightless identify tracking program with returning cross-traffic signals, distant key, dual-zone automated heating and cooling, a 120-volt energy outlet and an auto-dimming rearview reflection.

As you'd anticipate, the Set trim stage contributes leather furniture for the top part seat, a car owner seat with power-adjustable lower back support, a six-way energy traveler seat, warmed front part seat, a warmed leader and car owner memory settings.

The Top quality contributes rain-sensing wipers, an upgraded Bose seven-speaker audio program, front part and returning vehicle parking receptors, a ahead accident caution program, a road leaving caution program, and a returning freight net and mat.

The freight net/mat is optionally available on all the lower cuts, while the Bose audio is also available on the Comfort and Set trim stages. Other choices, depending on trim stage, consist of firefox tires, a energy sunroof, a navigation program and ceiling rack combination rails.

Performance
All 2014 Buick Encore models are powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter inline four-cylinder motor rated at 138 horse power and 148 pound-feet of twisting. A six-speed automated with a manual-shift function is the only transmitting provided, but all editions of the Encore give you the choice of front-wheel generate or all-wheel generate.

2014 Buick Encore SUV
2014 Buick Encore SUV
Safety
Standard precautionary functions for the 2014 Buick Encore consist of front-seat joint security bags, front part and returning part security bags, part layer security bags, a rearview photographic camera, antilock disc braking system and traction and stability management. Also involved is OnStar, which includes automated accident notice, on-demand curbside support, distant door opening and thieved vehicle support.

A sightless identify tracking program with returning cross-traffic signals is available from the Comfort trim stage on up, while ahead accident caution and road leaving caution techniques are conventional on the Encore Top quality.

In government accident assessments, the all-wheel-drive Encore obtained five celebrities for overall accident security, while the front-drive Encore obtained four celebrities. Both editions obtained five celebrities in the frontal-impact and side-impact security categories. The Insurance Institution for Highway Safety gave the Encore the highest possible ranking of Excellent in its moderate-overlap front-offset and side-impact accident assessments, as well as its ceiling strength analyze. However, the Buick obtained the company's lowest ranking of Inadequate in the new small-overlap frontal-offset accident analyze (most little crossover SUVs earned a Inadequate or Minor ranking in this test).

Interior Design and Special Features
Fit and finish throughout the Encore's cottage is generally excellent, and well-placed soft-touch materials and splashes of simulated wood and metal accessories offer an elegant look. Buick's conventional IntelliLink program and its 7-inch management touchscreen display screen control the center collection. There are a lot of control buttons here, but we like the added redundancy they offer, and overall, the Encore's IntelliLink is fast, reliable and simple to use as infotainment and smart phone app incorporation techniques go.

Up front part there's enough all around, and the wide seat prove comfortable. Those seat are also nicely great, providing a instructing view around and above visitors as well as reducing entry and exit. In returning, there's ample legroom even for 6-footers, though there's less returning neck area and hiproom than in most other lightweight crossovers. Rear-facing car seat will be a tight fit returning here.

When it comes to carrying freight, the Encore is ready. The returning seat and the top part traveler seat flip smooth, allowing transport of longer items up to 8 legs in length. With all seat in place, there are 18.8 cubic legs of area. Foldable the returning seat down increases that to 48.4 pieces. This is more capacity than the Small Countryman provides (42.2 cubic feet), but noticeably less than you'll get from the next-size-up lightweight crossovers like the Honda CR-V, which provides a comparatively spacious 71 cubic legs.

Driving Impressions
In contrast to their boatlike forebears, today's Buicks generate with a kind of relaxed, composed comfort, and the Encore is no exception. However, due to this little crossover's short wheelbase, the ride tends to get lively over rough sidewalk, which can be an irritation on lengthy visits. The cottage stays silent at great rates of speed, though, thanks to a number of "quiet-tuning" tricks, such as an active sound-cancellation program by Bose.

Handling is not fantastic, but the Encore is nonetheless enjoyable to generate around town, as it goes where you point it and fits into little vehicle parking areas. The guiding is reasonably precise, and a tidy turning group makes for simple U-turns.

The 2014 Buick Encore's powerful liability is its 138-hp 1.4-liter motor. This just isn't enough motor for a crossover SUV, and although the Encore seems adequately powerful in town generating, it seems damaged when consolidating onto the road or making any kind of passing move. Not helping matters is the six-speed automated, which is quick to upshift into its higher equipment. This helps improve gas mileage, but it also blunts the Encore's responsiveness.

2014 Audi SQ5 SUV Review

Preliminary
The Audi SQ5 isn't new elsewhere in the world, but for 2014, the hopped-up lightweight cross-over creates its U.S. first appearance. As is the case with Audi's S4 and S5 designs, the SQ5 gets a revved-up 3.0-liter V6, and here it produces 354 horse power and 347 pound-feet of twisting. That energy is put to all four tires through an eight-speed automated gearbox. That's healthier energy for a small SUV, good enough to protect zero to 60 mph in a stated 5.3 a few moments, which is a half-second faster than the conventional Q5.

2014 Audi SQ5 SUV
2014 Audi SQ5 SUV
The SQ5 also comes with a performance-tuned revocation, conventional 20-inch and optionally available 21-inch tires, an optionally available powerful guiding program, xenon front lights, organic leather and faux-suede furniture and trademark S cut components throughout the cottage. A routing program with the newest MMI program is optionally available, as is the Bluetooth-tethered WiFi relationship. Foldable the back seat results in 57 cubic legs of freight area, which is a little below regular for this section.

The Q5's achievements tale creates the SQ5 a organic expansion of the collection. Don't be amazed if other car manufacturers start providing performance designs of bread-and butter crossovers once the 2014 Audi SQ5 comes this drop. Return for a complete evaluation, such as specifications, generating opinions and purchasing guidance as it becomes available.

We’re guilty of frequently complaining about the U.S. market not getting the coolest of automakers’ offerings or the same seemingly endless powertrain options that the rest of the world especially you, Europe is regularly afforded. German manufacturers, in particular, offer a much wider portfolio of vehicles in their home market. But the saying goes that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Take the Audi SQ5 TDI, for example. In Europe, the crossover is powered by a 3.0-liter V-6 turbo-diesel that produces 313 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. It’s impressive and we want, but cannot have, one. But at the 2013 Detroit auto show, Audi is debuting another SQ5. This one will be available on U.S. shores, it consumes gasoline rather than diesel, and is propelled by the brand’s most powerful supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 yet.

2014 Audi SQ5 SUV
2014 Audi SQ5 SUV
A lesser version of this V-6 is available in the standard Q5, where it produces 272 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. In fact, every 3.0-liter V-6 in Audi’s lineup could be considered lesser than what’s under the hood of the SQ5. Here, the mill serves up 354 hp and 347 lb-ft. (That’s 21-hp more than the same engine makes in the S4 and the S5.) Thanks to those increases in output, Audi says that the SQ5 will get from 0 to 62 mph in 5.3 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph. By contrast, Audi says the plebeian Q5 3.0T takes 6.0 seconds to reach 60 mph, and it’s limited to 130 mph. Audi claims a combined fuel-economy number of 21 mpg, which is the same as the combined EPA estimate for the standard Q5 3.0T. That number is likely a result of the optimistic European testing cycle. EPA estimates should become available closer to the vehicle’s on-sale date.

Like all other Q5 models offered in the U.S., the new SQ5 uses a ZF-sourced eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and power is transmitted to all four wheels. The suspension is lowered by 1.2 inches and fitted with firmer springs and shock absorbers. Twenty-inch wheels fitted with 255/45 tires—an option on the Q5 3.0T—are standard on the SQ5, while 21-inch wheels on series-40 rubber are offered as an option and are exclusive to the S model. If the European-market diesel-powered SQ5 is anything to go by, roadholding grip should be spectacular.

2014 Audi SQ5 SUV
2014 Audi SQ5 SUV
There are a few stylistic changes to set the SQ5 apart from the rest of the lineup. Most notably, Audi has added a glossy grille with dual horizontal bars, much like on Audi's other S models; SQ5 badges on the front brake calipers; the trademark aluminum-look mirror caps; and there are two exclusive colors, Panther Black and Estoril Blue. The latter does steal its name from a traditional and eternally cool BMW M color, but the color itself is unique: Audi's Estoril Blue is a glossy, dark shade with a hint of violet, much richer than BMW's lighter, vintage-looking Estoril Blue.

European markets may get their diesel-drinking SQ5, but the model bound for U.S. showrooms this summer remains true to the original Q5 Custom concept that launched at the GTI festival in Wörthersee, Austria, in 2009. That crossover, the inspiration for all SQ and upcoming RSQ vehicles, was powered by the same supercharged V-6 as is our SQ5, although it was tuned to produce 408 hp. While we quietly wonder why we couldn’t have the full power of the concept that begot the 2014 SQ5, we’ll emphatically applaud its introduction with Audi’s most powerful 3.0T yet—and that it’s available in the U.S.

2014 Audi S5 Coupe Review

Preliminary
The Audi S5 is the performance-oriented edition of the A5. It provides more muscle design, more power and extra conventional equipment.

2014 Audi S5 Coupe
2014 Audi S5 Coupe
The S5 is operated by a 333-hp 3.0-liter revved-up V6 motor. Transmitting options on the coupe consist of a conventional six-speed guide or optionally available seven-speed S tronic such as guide equipment selection and leader exercise shifters. Cabriolet designs are prepared specifically with the seven-speed S tronic transmission. Audi's popular quattro all-wheel generate program is conventional along with unique S5-specific functions such as a sport-tuned revocation, 18-inch metal tires, aluminum-look external decorative mirrors, front side sport seat and applied metal internal cut components. An available Reputation program contributes flexible front lighting, MMI routing plus and Hit & Olufsen top quality audio. Standard precautionary functions consist of six protection bags, four-wheel anti-lock disk stopping system with stopping mechanism assist, digital balance and grip management systems, and a wheel stress observe. Back coupe parking receptors, a sightless identify observe and flexible vacation management with effective stopping secure are also available.

2014 Audi S5 Coupe
2014 Audi S5 Coupe
New For People
At the heart of the S5 is a new-for-the-coupe work, a 3.0-liter revved-up V6. In this program, it generates 333 horse power at 5,500 rpm, while its 325 lb-ft of twisting assessments in at a mid-range 2,900 rpm. Best of all, it's quicker, and more cost-effective than the 4.2-liter V8 it changes.

If you've been being attentive, you probably understand that this motor has, confusingly, been conventional in the S5 sports convertible since 2010.

Using the company's FSI immediate hypodermic injection structure, the new motor controls an extra 38 horses over the platform 3.0-liter revved-up device in other automobiles. In past years, the T status denoted a turbo charger, but that was then, this is now, where T simply represents some sort of increase in Audi-speak.

Setting the A5 apart from its BMW 335i and Mercedes-Benz E550 coupe competitors is its conventional Torsen-based Quattro full-time all-wheel generate program. Although a Tiptronic automated equipment box is on offer, ours was prepared specifically with the six-speed guide equipment box, which is really the only non-blasphemous way order this car.

Normally, the S5 is prepared with a five-link revocation set up with sport revocation calibration, but ours was spec'd with the optionally available S5 flexible dampening program, which provides flexible configurations which range from convenience to sport.

2014 Audi S5 Coupe

Facelifted
Resplendent in pearlized white and balanced out with as well as fibre everywhere, our specialist presented a recently designed single structure grill and self-leveling xenon headlamps. LED operating lighting and new up-dates to the trademark lightbars assisted to upgrade the contacts. Major perfectly into the long Pepsi bottle-shaped flanks, they are balanced out by new bumpers, front and rear side. A customized rear diffuser / extractor is completed four chromed tailpipes that are all about show, and go.

The den of iniquity that is the S5's cottage is prepared with helpful, intensely supported sport seat balanced out by a racing-inspired flat-bottomed leader almost raised right out of the Audi TT RS areas bin. Plenty of smooth touch content protected the gates and dash panel. Anything else not protected by set, pleather or as well as fibre was adorned with applied metal. A well-placed deceased your pedal just western of the clutch system was included for the left foot's enjoyment when it wasn't providing the third your pedal a exercise.

Gauges were simple and to the point, presenting S5 badging and a 160 mph speedometer, but by far the best product in this chariot of the four jewelry is the Search engines Charts 3D overlay, which shows actual satellite tv visuals and Search engines Road opinions. In addition, travelers not fortunate enough to be behind the rim can go online with audi Weblink, the brand's moving WiFi hot identify that needs a (very German) T-Mobile registration.

Everything else you would anticipate from a wearing car is on panel, but we're particularly limited to the flexible revocation and completely defeatable balance management, both of which make the most of a new guiding installation.

Audi furnished with the old gas guiding program and went electromechanical now. The outcome is a research in quality, with an uncannily communicative and immediate feel. With a film of the change, we went from convenience to sport establishing and then tried the Powerful method, which feelings street circumstances instantly. The program uses receptors to change it on the fly based on street quality and area perspectives. All the while though, there was nothing in the way of rudeness that would cause us to be disrupted by a difficult drive.

The speeding was like a popular old TV rasslin' move known as the Traveling Fall Punch. Effectively placed, it sensed like two size-eleven play fighting shoes were pushing your rear strongly into the sport seat. All the while, you are aware of the little motor that could, providing great neck from the other side of the firewall program. A reasonable amount of street disturbance was passed on into the cottage, but we think that was more a consequence of the difficult streets in non-urban Denver than a wheel mismatch.

The six-speed guide equipment box provided accurate and very fulfilling simply click, simply click, simply click motions through the equipment and egged us on to go more complicated and more complicated, something the new 3.0-liter revved-up device was more than willing to do. Although it does not have the V8 scream we liked about its forerunner, this new motor is a sleek and torquey owner more than up to the process.

Meanwhiel, cornering from the flexible dampening revocation had us tightening up through the changes, and then a second later paying for ripped up street with infrequent patching.

2014 Audi S4 Sedan Review

Preliminary
Fashionable and qualified, with a swank and nicely laid-out internal, the 2014 Audi S4 is a very nice lightweight high-class sedan with room for four grownups, decent footwear potential and lots of available high-end functions. But it's also a true sport sedan thanks to a zesty, 333-horsepower revved-up V6 that creates it about a second-and-a-half quicker to 60 mph than the A4 sedan on which it's centered.

2014 Audi S4 Sedan
2014 Audi S4 Sedan
Standard all-wheel generate ensures all that energy gets to the ground and creates the S4 an attractive choice for generating lovers living in wet or wintry environments. At first look, though, you could error this car for an A4, because its external design improvements are so simple. But those in the know will identify the S4 sedan's exclusive wheels, applied metal reflection hats, extended body system sills and reduced revocation. If they bother to look within, they'll see sport seat and a flat-bottom leader as well. The result is an average sport sedan that doesn't promote your penchant for generating fast.

Of course, the S4's numerous improvements do not come for free. In base cut, it's competitive with the BMW 335i, which provides similar rate and managing abilities. If you exaggerate it with the choices, the price starts to find their way into the area of the far more powerful and extroverted Audi CTS-V and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG cars (though when typically prepared, those vehicles still tend to be quite a bit more expensive). Ultimately, few vehicles can match the 2014 Audi S4's balance of high-class, performance and managed style, and if you're shopping for a premium-brand sport sedan, it's definitely value a look.

2014 Audi S4 Sedan
2014 Audi S4 Sedan
Body Styles, Options
The 2014 Audi S4 is a higher-performance version of the A4 lightweight high-class sedan. It's offered in a single Top quality Plus cut level with an available choice program known as the Reputation. Standard functions of the S4 Top quality Plus consist of 18-inch wheels, summer season performance wheels, selectable generating configurations (known as Audi generate select), a sunroof, computerized xenon front side lights, LED day time running lights, foglights, computerized wipers, tri-zone computerized heating and cooling, warmed eight-way energy front side sport seat (with four-way lower back adjustment), car owner memory configurations, set and simulated suede furniture, metal internal accessories, a 60/40-split-folding back seat, auto-dimming decorative mirrors, Wireless phone connection, a dash-mounted MMI (Multi Press Interface) gadgets operator and a 10-speaker audio program with a CD player, iPod interface and satellite stereo system.

The Reputation program contributes flexible xenon front side lights, a rearview photographic camera, keyless key and entry, back vehicle parking receptors, voice manages, a 14-speaker Hit & Olufsen audio program, blind-spot tracking, an MMI operator installed on the middle system, Wireless audio connection, Audi Connect smart phone incorporation, a routing program and HD stereo system. If you don't want to pay for this entire program, the nav program and Hit & Olufsen stereo system can be purchased independently.

However, you must choose the Reputation program if you want the Driver Support program, such as flexible vacation management and an improved guiding program (which differs the guiding effort and quickness). The energy back sunshade/manual part colour choice also requires the Reputation program.

Other choices consist of 19-inch wheels, flexible revocation dampers, a back limited-slip differential, complete set furniture, rear-seat part protection bags, all-season 18-inch wheels (no charge), carbon-fiber internal inlays, padded aluminum/black wood inlays, and a Dark Optic program with high-gloss black external cut and exclusive 19-inch smoke-colored wheels.

Performance
The 2014 Audi S4 is powered by a revved-up 3.0-liter V6 which makes 333 hp and 325 pound-feet of twisting. All-wheel generate and a six-speed stick move come conventional, while a seven-speed computerized stick move (called S tronic) is also available and provides as the automatic-transmission choice on this car. Audi provides what it calls an optionally available Sport back differential, basically a limited-slip differential that allows apportion twisting between the back wheels to improve the vehicle's cornering line. It's value buying if you like to generate on twisty back streets.

EPA-estimated gas mileage is 17 mpg city/26 mpg road and 20 mpg along with the guide and 18 mpg city/28 mpg road and 21 mpg along with the S tronic. Although the 335i, Q50 and C350 are more fuel-efficient, the S4 has much better scores than the C63.

2014 Audi S4 Sedan
2014 Audi S4 Sedan
Safety
The 2014 Audi S4 comes conventional with antilock braking system, hold and balance management, mountain release assist, front side part protection bags and part layer protection bags. Rear-seat part protection bags are optionally available, and the Reputation program contributes a rearview photographic camera, back vehicle parking receptors and a blind-spot caution program. This program also allows you to add flexible vacation management (at additional cost), and it has a accident caution and minimization feature that primes the braking system if it finds a possible front side accident.

The 2014 A4/S4 aced government accident assessments, receiving five out of five celebrities for mixed overall security, with five celebrities for front side security, five celebrities for part accident security and five celebrities for flip security. In Insurance Institution for Highway Safety examining, the A4 (on which the S4 is based) gained a top ranking of Good for its performance in the moderate-overlap frontal-offset, side-impact and roof-strength assessments. The A4 gained a Poor ranking (the lowest) in the Institute's new, small-overlap frontal-offset accident analyze, but only a few vehicles have been exposed to this analyze and a majority have gained low scores.

Interior Style and Special Features
There is little to error within any Audi when it comes to internal planning, and the S4's cottage continues to be as clean and organized as the A4 on which it is centered. Upgrades exclusive to the S4 are its helpful sport seat (with either complete set furniture or a combination of set and simulated suede), a flat-bottom leader and gray-faced equipment.

Many of the S4's manages are straightforward. Infotainment functions are managed via Audi's Multiple Press Interface (MMI), which includes a little handle enclosed by control buttons that management choices on a central screen. Overall, it's an effective interface, though some audio functions are hidden in choices and, in practice, we've found BMW's iDrive and Mercedes' COMAND systems a bit more user-friendly to use. In S4s without the routing program, the MMI handle is located on the dash panel (rather than the middle console), and we find this installation less convenient to function.

The S4's nice internal space gives it an advantage over some of the smaller vehicles in its section. It provides five grownups for short jaunts or perfectly seat four grownups for lengthy trips. Trunk potential is average for the class at 12.4 cubic legs.

2014 Audi S4 Sedan
Driving Impressions
With the revved-up V6 engine's considerable energy and twisting, the 2014 Audi S4 boosts with genuine passion, whether it is prepared with the stick move or the computerized S tronic transmitting. The stick move has somewhat lengthy shifter brings and a lengthy clutch system your pedal travel, but is generally enjoyable to function. The S tronic provides a best-of-both-worlds combination of performance and convenience, as it provides quick, purposeful changes whether you use the move paddles on the leader or simply leave it in computerized method. Although you may be inclined to choose the guide, the S tronic is a fulfilling alterative, especially if your S4 will be driven by multiple members of your household.

Responsive and communicative braking system motivate confidence without stinging too suddenly when you're generating in stop-and-go traffic. Likewise, the S4's managing is fantastic, thanks to its firm state of revocation track, all-wheel generate and conventional summer season wheels each leading to its awesome hold, even in bad weather. The selectable generating configurations add sharpness to the accelerator reaction and move features, and can cheer up managing on models prepared with the optionally available powerful guiding (part of the Driver Support package) and flexible revocation dampers. Rounding out the S4's enjoyable features is its quality of drive, which continues to be quite comfortable despite the vehicle's sharp managing. All told, the Audi S4 is a motorist's car that creates peace with the reality that you can't always generate alone.
